So how do you take charge of your eating choices, instead of letting your food cravings make your choices for you? 1. You do it by becoming more aware of how your own mind works, and by learning how to gain more conscious control of the choices that you make. 2. You pay attention to the way chronic stress puts your food cravings in control by making it harder for you to ignore the false thoughts that addicts call stinking thinking. 3. You take the time to learn a few simple meditation techniques that help you make better food choices, and which will also help to reduce or eliminate your chronic stress. 4. You give yourself the support you need, by learning to love yourself. 5. You set goals that are realistic and achievable. 6. You change your environment so that you have a better chance for success. 7. Then you congratulate yourself, because youre well on the way to good health! When you've taken these seven steps you will be in charge of what you eat. You will feel as though you are living in a completely different world (because you are!) and both your mind and body will begin to feel active, alive, and full of the exuberance and excitement that you thought you had lost forever. You will find you have much more vitality because you are no longer spending mental energy coming up with excuses for choices you didnt really make on purpose. Youll be more honest with yourself, because youll understand yourself better. And you will lose the need to beat up on yourself when you make a mistake. There are simple meditations that will help you achieve lower stress and greater awareness and control of your mind. These methods are easy to master, and are the key to taking control of your weight. Even when you learn these meditative techniques, you will still run into challenges, but it will be easier to say no to food cravings, and that will help you stay on your diet.
